Luzia means “the luminous one” — the one who radiates her own light.
It also references Luzia, the oldest human fossil found in South America, a symbol of wisdom, origin, and depth.
The name evokes the verb “to shine,” reminding us of light as a force that reveals, transforms, and brings clarity.
Inspired by Luzia, we aim to leave our mark — reinforcing the power of light in shaping spaces, emotions, and human experiences, while helping elevate the profession of Lighting Design to greater recognition.

"The question is not what you look at, but what you see."
Henry David Thoureau
We are a Lighting Design studio specialized in creating atmospheres that evoke unique visual sensations through lighting concepts developed exclusively for each project. Our mission is to enhance architecture through light, offering solutions grounded in a deep analysis of each space and the needs of the people who inhabit it. We value strong, multidisciplinary collaboration, always guided by creativity, honesty, and transparency.
We operate completely independently, with no ties to lighting stores or manufacturers, which allows us to focus on the best solution for each client while respecting the available budget. We believe that every architectural project is unique, and therefore we follow a methodology based on a careful reading of the architecture to define a lighting concept that is unique, coherent, and aligned with the purpose of each space. Within this vision, the role of the Lighting Designer is to create visual and sensory experiences through light, enhancing the architecture and the well-being of the end user.
Luzia Lighting & Senses has been active in the Brazilian market since 2020 and has developed more than 120 projects, serving clients such as KPMG, Uliving, Granado, and various architecture firms including Estudio BRA, RGB Arquitetos, Proh Arquitetura, and Studio L. In 2024, the studio received an Honorable Mention at the LIT Awards, an international lighting competition, for the Uliving Campinas project.
